Rafinha joins Inter on loan

Internazionale have completed the signing of Barcelona midfielder Rafinha on loan until the end of the season.

The Italian giants have an option to sign the Brazilian international on a permanent basis for €35 million.

Rafinha has been with the Catalan club for more than a decade, making his debut under Pep Guardiola back in November 2011.

The two-time Spanish international has only recently returned from a serious knee injury that had kept him out since April 2017.

Rafinha scored eight goals in 48 La Liga appearances for Barcelona but had not been given the opportunity to play under current head coach Ernesto Valverde, who became manager at the Camp Nou over the summer.

The 24-year-old was part of Barcelona’s 2014-15 and 2015-16 title-winning teams and their 2014-15 Champions League success.

Inter Milan are currently fourth in Serie A, 11 points behind league leaders Napoli as manager Luciano Spalletti tries to bring back Champions League football to the San Siro since the 2011-12 campaign.
