PSG agree deal for Real Madrid target Kylian Mbappé
Paris Saint-Germain have agreed a deal to sign teenage sensation Kylian Mbappé from rivals AS Monaco.
The 18-year-old was a star for Monaco last season as they surprisingly won the French Ligue 1 title and reached the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.
Mbappé had been strongly linked with a move to a number of Europe’s elite this summer, including Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United.
However, it is Paris Saint-Germain who have won the battle for the striker’s signature in what the BBC are reporting is a year-long loan with an option to buy the player for €180 million (£165.7m).
Earlier this summer PSG signed Neymar for a world record sum of €222 million (£198m) from Barcelona so the loan deal is seemingly to avoid any Financial Fair Play penalties.
Mbappé had been a target of Zinedine Zidane, particularly following the sale of Álvaro Morata to Chelsea.
PSG’s latest acquisition scored 15 goals in 29 Ligue 1 appearances (17 starts) and added a further eight assists for Monaco last season. He also scored six goals in nine UEFA Champions League matches (6 starts).
Kylian Mbappéhas been likened to former-Barcelona forward Thierry Henry due to his pace, movement and finishing.
